If you are concerned about your child’s attention, focus, or behavior, our experienced team can provide a comprehensive ADHD evaluation. We consider how your child is doing at home, at school, and in other settings to develop a complete picture of their needs.

Parents and teachers can conveniently complete confidential online questionnaires. Their feedback helps our providers better understand your child’s academic, behavioral, and social development.

Following a diagnosis, we provide ongoing care throughout the year, including follow-up visits, prescription refills, and monitoring of school performance, growth, medication effectiveness, and possible side effects. We can adjust your child’s treatment plan as their needs change and discuss both medication and non-medication approaches to care.

Our pediatric providers have extensive experience diagnosing and managing childhood asthma and allergies. We work with families to develop an individualized treatment plan, monitor symptoms, and help children keep their asthma well controlled.

Our in-office spirometer measures how well your child’s lungs are working. This testing can help us diagnose asthma, assess its severity, and evaluate how well treatment is working over time. We can also perform exercise testing to determine whether physical activity triggers your child’s asthma.

In collaboration with community-based mental health professionals, our pediatric providers evaluate and treat children experiencing behavioral, emotional, or school-related concerns, including:

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Anxiety

Depression

Many of these concerns can be diagnosed and managed in our office. When additional expertise is needed, we can collaborate with or refer your child to a pediatric mental health specialist.

Caring for a child with a disability or chronic health condition can feel overwhelming, especially when multiple professionals and specialists are involved. Your family deserves clear information, coordinated care, understanding, and ongoing support.

By making Island Pediatrics your child’s medical home, you have a pediatric provider who understands their complete medical history, treatments, and changing needs. We help coordinate care, track treatment plans, and follow referrals and recommendations from stateside specialists.

We like to begin your newborn care 2-3 days after they are discharged from the hospital and continue as an integral part of the comprehensive care provided by our professional team!

Some medical conditions require the expertise of a pediatric specialist. When specialty care is needed, we can help connect your child with the appropriate provider.

We remain involved throughout the process and coordinate with the specialists and other healthcare professionals participating in your child’s care.

Please call our office when your child needs a prescription refill. Whenever possible, contact us before the medication runs out to allow time for your provider to review and process the request.

Sports physicals help ensure that your child is healthy and ready to participate safely in athletic activities. During the visit, your child’s provider will review their medical history, assess their overall health and fitness, and discuss any injuries or conditions that could affect participation.

Please schedule the appointment before the sports season begins and bring any forms required by your child’s school or athletic program.
